Hi! I'm Laura
Foudy. I'm now a fourth year resident
at St. Joe. I'm completing a Master in Public
Health through Loma Linda University, so
I'm taking a little extra time so I can finish
both residency and my master at the same
time. I live right here in South Bend, not
too far from the hospital. I love my house
and the incredible perennial garden surrounding
it. Jacki and Trixy have spent many hours
helping me in the garden-they are great friends!
Over this past summer I had the opportunity to work in Kijabe, Kenya as a part of our International Health Track. I saw some amazing pathology, met some incredible people, and finished up with a fantastic safari! Once I finish residency, I plan to return to Kenya to work full time in

Welcome, I am Zhaijun Fan. I grew up in China and obtained a medical degree there. To add another degree, I went to New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and received an Osteopathic medical degree – I’m Tired! In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. My hobbies include cooking Chinese food and traveling. I was attracted to this program because it offered a competitive benefit package and an opportunity for me to become “dually board certified”. I am looking forward to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center’s new hospital scheduled to open for my third year of residency and I would like to practice office based Family Medicine.

Hello everybody, I am Jeff Kindred. I’m
from Salt Lake City, UT and attended Kirksville
College of Osteopathic Medicine. I'm proud
to acknowledge I have a wonderful family, my
wife Larissa, our son Beckham and our new little
girl, Hazel. Oh, I almost forgot the other
family members, Lucy and Felix our dogs. I
was attracted to this residency for two opportunities:
being able to be “dually board certified” and the Masters of Public Health Program, being offered during my residency. I’m interested in Sports Medicine and after attending my first Notre Dame football game last fall, I now “bleed blue and gold”. I’m looking forward to getting to know South Bend and hope to take my family on frequent outings to Chicago.

Hello, I am Madiha Saeed I was born and raised in Naperville, IL and attended medical school at the National University of Science & Technology (Army Medical College). I am blessed with my family who has sacrificed so much to see me get to where I am today and my caring husband, Omer, with whom I can share my dreams. I grew up in Findlay, OH, which allowed me
to have the honor of being an Ohio State Buckeye
fan. In South Bend, I have the pleasure of
sharing my dislike of Michigan with all the
wonderful Notre Dame fans, which makes me feel
at home. I went to school at the University
of Cincinnati for both undergrad and medical

converted themselves to hoosiers. My interest

Hi, I’m Joe Cerjak from Indianapolis, Indiana. I recently graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine. I look forward to working at St. Joseph’s because of their outstanding dedication to the community. I am excited about the move to South Bend because I am a diehard Indiana University basketball fan, and now will finally have a football team to cheer on. My wife Bre and I are heavily involved in animal rescue and in the 4 years that we have lived in our house, we have had at least 30 animals living with us and have found good homes for most of them (the rest are still under our roof so I think they are in a great home). I love anything outdoors especially sports and am currently trying to learn to play the guitar. The next few years are going to be a challenge, but I am very much looking forward to overcoming it and coming out on the other side as an outstanding physician.

Hello, I’m Garrick Collins. I am a graduate of Benedictine University and the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. I grew up on a farm in the small rural community of Tyro, Arkansas. I am interested in working with the underserved populations in rural areas. Having my family still living in these communities, I have seen first hand the dramatic need for quality health care, and feel this is going to be a new area of crisis as older physicians in these areas begin to retire. My wife, Juliet, and our two children, Grace and Garrick II, love traveling, visiting with family, and family-friendly cooking activities. We also have enjoyed restoring/remodeling old homes; our last two residences were over 100 years old.
