Mission & Philosophy

Our mission in the Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency is to train an individual to be “practice ready”.  Our residents are expected to be eligible for triple boarding.  This includes board certification in forefoot reconstructive surgery, rearfoot and ankle reconstructive surgery as well as the orthopedic/medicine board.

Our hospital system and neighboring facilities create an overabundance of foot and ankle training opportunities.  This allows the highest level of direct resident participation to develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes creating high levels of competencies in comprehensive foot and ankle care.

The philosophy shared within the institution is such that care provided will take into account the spiritual, psychological, and physical needs of patients regardless of age, sex, race, religion or ethnic group.
