Mission & Philosophy
The Pharmacy Practice Residency Program is designed to produce a model pharmacy
practitioner capable of providing direct and collaborative patient care through
participation in multidisciplinary teams and pharmacist run clinics.
Over the course of the residency, the pharmacist will gain expertise in the
education of future pharmacists and other associated health-care professionals.
Pharmacy Practice Residency Goals
To Teach:
Provide the resident pharmacist with experience in the direct instruction of future
pharmacists, physicians, and other associated health care professionals in both formal
and informal settings.
To Treat:
Train the resident pharmacist in developing, initiating, substantiating, conducting,
and monitoring direct and collaborative patient care services.
To Lead:
Foster development of practice management knowledge and experience necessary for high
level functioning and a successful practice.
Teamwork:
Foster the development of necessary skills and behaviors for participating on
multidisciplinary teams.
