John E. Blomstedt III, D.O.Letter from the Director for the Osteopathic Residency Program

Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center is pleased to offer an Osteopathic Family Medicine Residency and General Rotating Internship. These run in parallel with an allopathic family medicine residency, showing Trinity’s support for medical education in our community.

The AOA approved our first osteopathic internship in 1950 and the following year the Residency was approved, thus providing more than 50 years of osteopathic education in the Michiana community. This was the first such osteopathic training program in Indiana. We are accredited by JCAHO, AOA and ACOFP.

The faculty pride themselves on supporting medical education and osteopathy in Michiana, and providing an environment conducive to learning. In alignment with our allopathic program I believe we offer the best osteopathic post-graduate education available. I hope you’ll give us the opportunity to show you why.

Sincerely,

John E. Blomstedt III, D.O.
Interim Director of Medical Education
