Hello!
Thank you for visiting our website. As another recruiting season starts up again, it never ceases to amaze me at how fast time goes. It feels like only yesterday I was interviewing our current first year residents and planning my travel to the National Conference-Program Director's Workshop in Kansas City.
I enjoy the opportunity I get every year to attend the National Conference-Program Director's Workshop as it provides me a chance to dialog with others in relation to "how are things going" or "what new ACGME guidelines are upcoming". As I attend this conference, I realize how fortunate I am to work at SJRMC as the Program Director because of the strong faculty I have working with incredible residents that put their heart and soul into their work.
My recent interactions with residents, whether during an obstetrical delivery or teaching first year residents in the dermatology workshop, has shown me that everyone has their own style of how they get their work done and their own mission of what they want to achieve during residency. Through all of it, I find the level of engagement from residents continues to motivate me to offer the best education our program can offer. I always encourage residents that residency life should be rewarding as well as challenging! My style has been, and will continue to be, to keep my door open for residents to engage me in dialog for any opportunities that may come their way!
I welcome your interest in our program and hope our website provides you with information that will help decide what you want out of a Family Medicine Residency.
Sincerely,
Martin Wieschhaus, M.D., F.A.A.F.P (To
